Community Development and Building

Community Development and Building

Throughout Ghana, local leaders and organizations are constantly engaged in projects to strengthen community resources and build positive change. Community development projects encompass a broad set of activities aimed at steering the community toward self sustainability. One of our primary goals is to engage local youth in developing solutions that will impact their cities and towns. As a community development volunteer, you will work with other volunteers and community leaders in vital areas such as public education and practical training, construction and renovation, and water projects.

Assist in providing simple water systems
Work with villagers on ways to purify their drinking water
Organize computer training and small business management workshops
Develop educational and vocational training manuals that will be used by the community even after you leave

Help organize a fair trade program to help local artisans sell products abroad and receive fair prices
