Corporate Law and Human Rights

Corporate law and human Rights internships are geared toward those with an interest in corporate law and those with a passion for social justice and international development. Corporate law internships are open to current law students, LLM students, and recent graduates who have an interest in expanding their legal skills in an international skills while working with a law firm in Ghana.

Human rights internships are open to undergraduate and law students who have an interest in law, international development, advocacy and policy. Human Rights interns contribute towards sustainable efforts to protect and promote human rights and encourage change for women, children, and other affected groups. Interns are placed with government agencies, private firms, nonprofits, and international organizations. Interns make an impact while experiencing first hand the challenges and rewards of a career in law and international development.



Conduct factual and online research
Draft legal memoranda and assist with case preparation
Work with legal advice center
Coordinate public education and awareness events to educate locals about their rights
Conduct due diligence and draft reports
Engage in advocacy efforts aimed at curtailing human rights violations


Start Dates: Summer Program June-July: Year round internships start the first Monday of every month
Duration: Minimum 4 weeks
Age: 18 years and older at the start of internship
Qualifications: Corporate law interns must be currently enrolled in law school or recent graduates. Human rights internships are open to both undergraduate and law students, as well as recent graduates, from various fields including international development, communication, law, and policy.

Interns are matched with an organization based on their interest and qualifications, and the needs of the partner organization. Applicants should have a strong research and writing skills, be well organized, self motivated, and have good communication skills. Graduate students, law students and those with relevant educational and work experience are encouraged to apply.
